Five flight winners leads Bloomfield Hills to another boys state tennis title

The Bloomfield Hills boys tennis team used its superior depth to roll past the competition, winning the school's fourth state tennis over the past eight years on Oct. 15 at Hope College in Holland. Senior Daniel Stoyanov and freshman Connor Shaya won flight titles at Nos. 2 and 4 singles and the doubles teams of Pierce Shaya and Merrick Chernett (No. 1), Michael Dillon and Ryan Rose (No. 2) and Kierth Lingam and Dominic Pascarella (No. 4) were also victorious. The Black Hawks finished with 35 team points. Northville (25) was runner-up, followed by Troy (24). Rochester (13 points) tied for sixth overall, while Adams (eighth), Stoney Creek (10th) and Troy Athens (14th) also fared well.
