OAA’s best rewarded with MHSFCA all-state nods

The Michigan High School Football Coaches’ Association (MHSFCA) unveiled its 2022 all-state teams and a good number of Oakland Activities Association players were rewarded for their efforts on the gridiron this fall. 

A total of 10 OAA players earned first-team all state honors in Division 1, including Clarkston’s Cole Dellinger, Ethan Clark, Jamel McKinnie and Desman Stephens Jr. West Bloomfield also had four players honored, including Amir Herring, Deonte Pippen, Brandon Davis Swain and Jamir Benjamin. Joining them on the first team were Stoney Creek’s Jacob Kropchak and Troy’s Darius Whiteside II. 

In Division 2, Birmingham Groves’ offensive lineman Alex Koellner earned first-team honors, along with Birmingham Seaholm defensive lineman John Jokisch and Harper Woods junior defensive back Jacob Oden.
